Mantung Maggea Land Management Group

 

The Mantung Maggea Land Management Group (MMLMG) is a group of landholders within the Mantung Maggea area that work to protect Malleefowl populations in the region.

 

The group was established in 1991 and since then has workeked on numerous pojects and programs to conserve Malleefowl and their habitat.

 

The MMLMG covers an area of over 55000ha, 18000ha of which is protected under heritage agreements. THe area ilso is home to Bakara and Mantung Conservation Parks.  

 

One of the most important programs the group undertake is coordinated pest control of rabbits and foxes. Control of these species over a wide area significantly assists with protection of Malleefow.
