Mallee Farmers to Undertake Holistic Management Training Course

January 13, 2015

Recently we held the first of our video series training events. These video screenings will allow us to get landholders and community members together to watch presentations and learn about innovative land management techniques that are being used around the globe.  The first event focussed on Holistic Management and Planned Grazing as developed by Allan Savory and the Savory Institute.  The insightful talks prompted an interesting discussion amongst attendees and encouraged farmers to share their own experiences with managing grasslands on their property.

You can watch Allan Savoury’s talk on how to restore grasslands using stock here

As a result of this  video presentation a small study group has been established. Members of this group will meet to undertake an online Holistic Management training course run by the Savory Institute.  The aim of the study group is to encourage and support each other to achieve the qualification. Hopefully we will be able to offer more opportunities like this to community members in the future.

We are also planning to hold regular video training events. If you wish to be a part of these events please sign up to our newsletter, like us on facebook or check our website regularly to find out when the next one is being held.
